ACCEPTANCE

January 21, 2014

In honour of International Anti-Bullying Day, two schools came together to create a message about acceptance. We wanted to counter-balance the negative usage of social media by using the medium as a positive tool. We surprised an unsuspecting crowd at the local shopping mall. That was January 2011. We currently finished our fourth ACCEPTANCE project. But, I must say that this is still my favourite one, in part because all those "big kids" in the video have now since graduated and are still carrying on creating acceptance in the lives of others that they encounter.

Being a part of this type of project has enabled my students and me to discuss their experiences, whether difficult or inspirational, by sparking conversations about acceptance that probably would not ever have happened had we not been creating such a project.

Do you have any suggestions for future ACCEPTANCE/anti-bullying projects?
