SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarship Information:
The BC Dance Educators ’Association will be providing scholarships to BC dance students wanting to further their dance education. All applications must be submitted no later than May 22, 2026.
Applicants will receive notification of scholarships, assessed on an individual basis, after selection by the BCDEA Executive.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

Applicant must be a Canadian resident. Scholarship is not available to international students.

Applicant must be returning to elementary or secondary school in the same calendar year, or be graduating in the year of their application.

Applicant must be enrolled in a school dance program recognized by the BCDEA. A current teacher who is an active BCTF and BCDEA member must write their letter of recommendation.
APPLICATION DETAILS
Complete this form and submit along with the following additional pieces:
1. Cover letter
2. A link or file of dance excerpts featuring the applicant or choreographed by the applicant. The video must include a short introduction and be no longer than 3 minutes in total.
REFERENCES
One letter of recommendation is required from your current school dance teacher detailing their support of your application and confirmation that they are an active member of the BCTF and BCDEA.

AVAILABLE SCHOLARSHIPS
There are two application streams:

Recreational -- For students applying to support recreational dance training over the 2026 summer.
Amounts will vary, up to $250 -
Post-Secondary -- For students applying to support a University or Post-Secondary dance program. Amounts will vary, up to $1000
Successful applicants will be notified by the BCDEA Executive and will then be required to submit additional documents including: Void Cheque, EFT Form, Receipt with detailed payment information.
*Please Note: BCDEA Scholarships are structured to refund payments and cannot be issued without Void Cheque, EFT Form and Receipt or Proof of Payment
